Program Notes

The composition of this piece began with the melody. The melody inspired the form, which becomes quite traditional at times, reminiscent of Beethoven. The middle section draws on contemporary genre, and reflects a temporary deviation from the main trail to a branch, before reverting to the opening style. The title derives from the British-like march theme and the development of that theme throughout the composition.
