Program Notes

Nursery Rap uses the ABC Song, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and Baa Baa Black Sheep. The idea came from a summer camp experience where I taught some kids a body percussion pattern and told them they could use it with any song. The first thing that came to mind was the ABCs. It felt a little silly at first, but adding the rhythm gave it a new energy, and the kids were really into it. That moment stuck with me, and I wanted to capture that same feeling in this piece.
